Hey guys! Today, I thought it would be a fun idea to show you a summer makeup tutorial. I really like the look of this makeup because of the shimmery glow it gives you, which perfectly matched the season. The golden eyes just pops when your in the sun and it would look way better if your contour and highlight. I just want to give you a heads up, that this tutorial is REALLY simple. I know I don't use alot of products that I should, like primer but I just wanted to keep it simple. You can always try putting your own tweak to this look. In addition, in another blog post, I will show you 3 of my personal favourite (and easy) summer hairstyles. Now that I explained everything I needed to, we can get started!
Also, I'm going to share with you DIY Hacks that will help when you run out of your favourite makeup product and don't have time or the money to hit the store. You would probably have all the materials in your house. I will also add all the products I used in this tutorial and a link to purchase it below! If you want to know how to achieve this look, then keep on reading.
So first, if you want prime your face but I skipped that step. Next, go ahead and get your liquid foundation. I used "MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15" in the colour "NC45". To apply the foundation, I uses a sponge. I know most of you use a brush but the bristles of the brush hurts my skin so, I use something soft. I know some people may not want to use a foundation and many people like wearing BB cream in the summer. So, I have a DIY tutorial on how to make your very own BB cream. So let's get started!
Order for you to make the BB cream, you will need:
- Foundation (preferably 1-2 shades darker than you)
- Sunscreen
- Face Moisturizer
- Primer
First, add all your products except the foundation into your container. I used an old eyeliner gel bottle. Add the same amount of each product. Then, mix up the products. After, add in your foundation and make sure it is the same amount as the mixed product. Again, mix it up and there you have it! Your very own BB Cream!
Afterwards, I applied powder. I used "MAC Studio Careblend Pressed" in the colour "Dark". Evenly, put it all over your face and blend it in to your neck and ears. I used a MAC pad, that came with the powder to apply it.
After you added your powder, it's time to add blush. I used "Almay Wake-Up" in the colour "030 Berry". I just applied it with a brush that came with it on the apples of my cheek.
I know many people like to make their eyebrows look on "fleek". So, I had found a hack that will help you, if you ran out of your favourite eyebrow product. All you will need is a pencil crayon (preferably Crayola or a non toxic pencil crayon) that is one or two shades lighter or for black hair, just regualr black pencil crayon. Get a cloth or a tissue paper and wet it in hot water. After, swip the cloth/tissue across the pencil crayon and before it dries up, fill in your eyebrows. Repeatedly, swip your pencil crayon everytime it dries for a better colour.
Now to the fun part, the eyeshadow! For the inner corner of my eyes, I'm going to use a palette by Makeup Academy called "Heaven and Earth". I used the colour " Aurora" and put a little in the inner corner. I also used the same colour to highlight my eyebrows. For my eyelids, I used a "GOSH Quattro Eye Shadow 49 Jamaica". I used the shimmery gold colour and applied it to my eyelids with the brush it came with. After, I used the SpaResource Smudge Brush to blend the colour with my skin.
Now it is time for eyeliner. I used "Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Liner" in the colour "Black". To apply it, I had a old "Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen" in the colour "Blackest Black" that finished but the control of the pen is really good so, I didn't want to throw it out. So, I use it an a pen and dipped it into the gel liner and drew a wing eyeliner.
Now that we are done most of the look, there is 2 more steps. Right now, we have to do the eyelashes. I first took my 'NYC Eyelash Curler". For its price, it does an AMAZING job. I just curl my lashes and then taking my "MAC False Lashes" in the colour "Black", I applied coats of mascara until I was satisfied.
Now, the last part of the tutorial....the lips. I love alot of the lipstick but never can I find a shade that suites me perfectly and meets my satisfaction so, I decided to make this into a DIY. Presenting....DIY Crayon Lipstick. Yes, I know, it sounds stupid but believe me, it actually works. Plus, its safe because most crayons are non toxic (just read the label before you buy it). Now, here is how you make it:
All you will need is:
- Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline)
- Favourite crayons
First, take a pot and boil some water. Now in a little glass dish, put 2 tablespoon (or more if prefered) of petroleum jelly and break your crayon(s) into pieces. After the water has boiled, put the glass dish inside the pot and one by one until it melts. I mixed it with a skewer which is easier. After your crayon and petroleum jelly has mixed together, pour it into a container or even a lipstick bottle. Then, leave it in the fridge until it has become solid. Then, voila! Your very own lipstick!
I just lined my lips with "MAC Lip Pencil/Liner" in the colour "Vino". It perfectly matched the shade of my DIY lipstick. Then, using a brush, I just applied the DIY lipstick.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and please comment and share this with your friends! Until next time!
